Postdoctoral Position in Cell Biology (M/F)
Institut Curie is a major player in the research and fight against cancer. It consists of a Hospital group and a Research Center of more than 1000 employees with a strong international representativeness. The objective of the Research Center is to develop basic research and to use the knowledge produced to improve the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutics of cancers as part of the continuum between basic research and innovation serving the patient.
- Laboratory
The post-doctoral researcher will work in the Molecular Mechanism of Chromosome Dynamics group headed by Daniele Fachinetti (https://institut-curie.org/team/fachinetti) in close collaboration with the teams of Antoine Coulon (https://institut-curie.org/team/coulon) and Jean-Leon Maitre (https://institut-curie.org/team/maitre).
- The project
The selected candidate will study the causes and consequences of chromosome aneuploidy at multiple levels (centromeres, nuclear organization, development), using interdisciplinary approaches in cell models and mammalian embryos. By providing molecular, physical and cellular insights, this project will shed a new light on the mechanisms underlying chromosome-specific aneuploidy and its consequences on cell behavior and mammalian embryonic development.
This research program will use unique interdisciplinary approaches that integrate molecular and cell biology, cytogenetic analysis (Dumont et al, EMBO J, 2020), biophysical manipulation of chromosomes (Keizer et al., Science, 2022) and in vivo measurements in developing embryos (Firmin et al., BioRxiv, 2022) to study cell responses to aneuploidy.
- Candidate Profile
