The StartInnov Fund by Curie

As France's leading cancer center, Institut Curie has generated 32 start-ups since 2002 and over 50 products and services available on the market, thanks to a unique, integrated incubation program. Its aim is to accelerate the development of innovations in the field of oncology and to raise the profile of French research.

To foster the emergence of tomorrow's start-ups, Institut Curie has created the StartInnov Fund, the first fund designed to put philanthropy at the service of start-up creation. The aim of the fund is to collect donations to accelerate the maturation of pre-start-up projects, a stage often weakened by insufficient public and private financial resources that take a long time to mobilize, even though time is crucial for these future start-ups. Thanks to the donors of the StartInnov Fund, Institut Curie will be able to finance the maturation stage of projects in a very short space of time, and thus accelerate the time-to-market of cutting-edge innovations for the benefit of patients and healthcare professionals. The StartInnov fund is aimed at philanthropists and entrepreneurs keen to bring innovation from the laboratory to patients. Why get involved with Fonds StartInnov?

To enable three Institut Curie research projects each year to receive the funding they need to mature, with a view to creating start-ups after one or two years of support from Institut Curie incubation program.

What will the funds be used for?

• Strengthen the technology to demonstrate the robustness of the project and collect initial pharmacological data. 
• Refine the company's strategy by carrying out market studies: business model, initial indications, competitor analysis. 
• Carry out a regulatory analysis to plan the key stages in the development of the future start-up and enable it to move from laboratory invention to a concrete product.
