Information and consent
The information you receive from Institut Curie teams must be clear, fair and appropriate.Â
Your information
In addition to the information given to you verbally, Institut Curie provides you with documentary resources to help you deal with the various situations and issues you may encounter during your treatment.Â
Informing your friends and family
It is perfectly normal for your family members to wonder about your health. However, the principle remains that of confidentiality. However, with your agreement, certain information may be communicated to them.
The trusted support person
When you are admitted to the hospital, and throughout your stay, you can designate a trusted support person (parent, relative or attending physician). This person must be informed of and accept the role you have entrusted to them.Â
The trusted support person can accompany you on your journey and attend medical appointments to help you make decisions. This person may be consulted if you are unable to receive information and express your wishes, in which case they will act as your "spokesperson". You can change your trusted support person at any time by informing the medical team in advance.
