The medical-scientific program at Institut Curie
Institut Curie's main strength is its ability to bring scientific innovation to the bedside of the patient.Â
The medical-scientific program, which is the embodiment of the research-care continuum that makes the Curie model so unique, coordinates the joint efforts of the Research Center and the Hospital Group to strengthen our contribution to the fight against cancer at the national and international level.
The medical-scientific program of Institut Curie brings together the expertise of caregivers and researchers. It aims to accelerate the transfer of knowledge towards innovation, which will benefit patients. This program is a perfect embodiment of the research-care continuum, the hallmark of Institut Curie. The challenge is to optimize all operational aspects by 2030 to further improve overall efficiency.
Developing high-impact projects
The objective of Institut Curie's medical-scientific program is to build and support large-scale transversal projects with a strong impact for patients and science. It relies on the combined strengths and know-how of the Research Center and the Hospital Group, capitalizing on a culture of interdisciplinarity and state-of-the-art technological platforms. This evolutionary program adapts to contemporary scientific and medical advances in order to stay up-to-date as much as possible with the national and international challenges of the fight against cancer.
Thanks to this dynamic, Institut Curie is involved in major national and international unifying programs, which are supported by both public and private funding, such as the RHU, IHU, and bioclusters supported by France 2030.
Allocate resources commensurate with the challenges
To this end, Institut Curie has set up several dedicated systems in order to encourage the commitment of young doctors to research. Institut Curie develops doctor-researcher courses, which allow young doctors and interns to prepare scientific theses while they are working on their medical doctorates. The new status of caregiver-researcher, specific to Institut Curie, supports these exceptional courses. The program makes it possible to recruit the leaders of tomorrow and provide them with the means to work within young research teams.
