Patient Experience Committee

At Institut Curie, patients and professionals work together to build a more collaborative approach to care—one that is attentive to each individual.
This partnership aims to strengthen the quality and relevance of care, while placing the human dimension at the heart of every care pathway.
Understanding the patient experience
The patient experience encompasses all interactions, emotions, and perceptions encountered throughout the care pathway. It is grounded in essential needs such as trust, clarity, the quality of relationships with caregivers, and effective hospital organization.
Over the course of their care pathway, patients develop knowledge drawn from their lived experience. Building on this experiential knowledge, some choose to become actively involved alongside healthcare professionals.
By contributing expertise rooted in their personal experience, patient partners help to improve overall quality of care.
The role of the CdEP
The Patient Experience Committee (CdEP) embodies this approach within Institut Curie.
It brings together patient partners and professionals—both clinical and non-clinical—within thematic working groups.
Together, they share perspectives, analyze practices, and co-develop initiatives to improve the quality and safety of care, while fostering a culture of dialogue and mutual respect.
The CdEP’s three core missions
- Sharing: Promoting a culture centered on the patient’s experience and energizing the community of patient partners.
- Co-creating: Involving patients in hospital projects and working with them to develop information and support tools.
- Collaborating: Structuring and enhancing patient feedback, strengthening ties with associations, and supporting the implementation of health partnership initiatives across the institution.
A collective dynamic
By valuing patients’ voices and perspectives, the CdEP contributes to a deeper understanding of patient expectations and supports the ongoing evolution of practices and organizational models at Institut Curie.
The active involvement of patient partners fosters a more balanced and collaborative care relationship, in service of meaningful and effective healthcare democracy.
