ELLORA CHUA HUI ZHEN

I joined the lab in October 2022 as a Ph.D. student under the joint supervision of Florence Cavalli and Gudrun Schleiermacher. My research focuses on tackling the challenge of recurrent high-risk pediatric tumors, a pressing issue in pediatric oncology due to their low survival rates and limited treatment options. In my project, I aim to pinpoint the master regulators (MRs) responsible for driving recurrences and metastasis in specific high-risk pediatric cancer types. To achieve this, I leverage extensive pediatric cancer datasets from national programs as well as bioinformatics to deepen our understanding of the molecular pathways governing these tumor recurrences. I hope my work can bridge the gap between biology and clinical practice to ultimately improve outcomes for young patients facing these formidable tumors.
