Functions within Institut Curie
Presentation
Sylvain Baulande is the manager of the Next-Generation Sequencing platform (ICGex) of the Institut Curie since 2015. After a PhD in molecular biology and a post-doctoral position focused on transcriptomic analysis, he managed a genomic facility providing services based on microarray technologies for almost 10 years. These experiences allow him to develop strong skills in a broad range of genomic analysis and cutting-edge technologies. He switched into the high-throughput sequencing area after a 1-year position at the National Research Center in Human Genetics (CNRGH) as a research scientist before heading the NGS facility of the Institut Curie. He is now in charge of the operational management of the platform consisting in supervising proper execution of NGS projects submitted by research teams and scouting for new high throughput genomic technologies in the field of cancer genomics. In addition, he is co-coordinator of the Single Cell Initiative aiming at fostering implementation of single cell and spatial multiomics cutting-edge technologies.
