Presentation
Tarek is originally from Tunisia, where he received a master's degree in Biological Engineering from the University of Tunis El Manar. He also completed a master's degree in Oncology as well as a master's degree in Computer Science from the Claude Bernard Lyon University, during which time he carried out a 6-month internship at the Institut Curie - Paris. He worked in Nicolas Manel's team on the analysis of single cell data from dendritic cells infected with MVA (Modified Ankara Virus). The same year he joined Pierre Milpied's team at the Marseille Luminy Immunology Center (CIML) as a bioinformatics engineer. His work focused on the study of the heterogeneity of immunological cells in lung cancer. Since 2021, he has joined Inovarion, an expert service company in life sciences. His first assignment was to characterize connective tissue cells during the development of the musculoskeletal system at the Institute of Biology Paris Seine (IBPS). At the beginning of 2023, he joined our team as a scientific collaborator to develop a project funded by the PEDIAC consortium. His work aims at characterizing cellular and molecular differences in intra- and extra-tumoral compartments for different tumor entities using omics data.
