An Extraordinary Journey

Treated at Institut Curie from birth for retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer, Héloïse Courvoisier faced 18 tumors and recurrences before the age of 18 months. Despite severe visual impairment, she turned her disability into strength, becoming an elite athlete in the PTVI category (visual impairment).
On September 2, 2024, she proudly represented France at the Paris Paralympic Games in the demanding triathlon event — 750 m swimming, 20 km cycling, and 5 km running. Alongside her guide Anne Henriet, she delivered a powerful message of hope and resilience.
Now ranked among the world’s best in her category, Héloïse is also a physiotherapist, an advocate for inclusion, and a source of inspiration for young patients and their families.
