Users' Commission (CDU)

Missions of the CDU

• Ensuring that the rights of users are respected: ensure that patients' rights are always at the heart of the hospital's concerns.
• Facilitate procedures: help users in their interactions with the hospital.
• Improve patient care quality: issue opinions and proposals to improve the experience of patients and their families.
• Examine written complaints: analyze complaints addressed to management by patients or their relatives.
• Monitor improvement actions: be informed of measures taken in response to complaints, claims or serious undesirable events.

Composition of the CDU

• Director of the Hospital Group or his representative.
• Arbitrators: a tenured doctor and his deputy, as well as a tenured non-physician mediator and his deputy.
• Association representatives: approved members of user and family associations.
• CME doctor: representative of the hospital medical commission.
   

Chair of the CDU 

At Institut Curie: the chairman is the representative of an association approved by the Agence régionale de santé (ARS). He or she is elected from among the members of the CDU. Their mandate runs for a two-year period, renewable twice.
