Institut Curie regulations on patient data and its re-use for research purposes.

As part as your medical care at Institut Curie, our medical, nursing and administrative teams collect and store, in your medical folder, personal data or documents containing personal data, such as medical reports, radiological images, and test results.
Unless you object, this personal data may also be reused in a pseudonymized or anonymized form and shared with academic and/or industrial partners within the framework of research.

You may rest assured that the objection to the use of your personal data for research purposes will have no consequences on the continuation of your care, the quality of care provided to you, or your relationship with your physician.
Your personal data will be used in compliance with the applicable regulations, in particular Regulation (EU) No. 2016/679 on the protection of personal data ("GDPR"). For more information on how Institut Curie uses and protects your personal data, you can consult the personal data policy.
In accordance with the applicable regulations, the processing of your personal data for scientific research purposes is necessary for the performance of a task carried out on the basis of the public interest.
In accordance with current regulations, you have, at any time and within the limits of the applicable laws, the following rights:
- the right to access and rectify your personal data,
- the right to object to the transmission of data that may be used for this research,
- the right to erase your data,
- the right to restrict the use of your data,
- the right to verify the identity of the data controller, the legal basis, the purpose of the use, the recipients, as well as the retention period of this data.

In the event of exercising the right to erase your data, some data may, however, not be deleted if such deletion makes it impossible or seriously compromises the fulfillment of the research objectives.
