Histology methods
Most histological techniques require several rigorous steps depending upon the nature of the study and the question asked:
- Staining defines different cellular and tissue structures
- In situ hybridization detects mRNA and consequently gene expression
- Immuno-staining identifies protein localization in tissues via antigen/antibody reaction. In the most common instance, the antibody is conjugated to an enzyme, such as peroxidase, that can catalyze a color-producing reaction. Alternatively, the antibody can also be tagged to a fluorophore.
We are developing single cell and multiplex RNA and protein detection on tissues and cells.
