Endometrial cancer research
As a referral center in the treatment of women's cancers, Institut Curie is strongly committed to research to fight endometrial cancer, participating, in particular, in translational research protocols, which are at the edge of the basic research, to understand the mechanisms at the origin of cancer, and in clinical research in order to evaluate the effectiveness and tolerance of treatments in patients.
The Institute's teams work, in particular, on the following:
- Research into predisposition factors for endometrial cancer
- Implementation of new surgical strategies limiting the risk of complication;
- Molecular characterization of the tumors with high-throughput technologies to better understand their mechanisms. Institut Curie’s platform is also at the forefront in terms of characterization;
- Development of genomic signatures and DNA repair defects to predict response to certain treatments;
- Monitoring of the disease with liquid blood biopsy;
- Search for new personalized therapies, etc.
