Pancreatic cancer research
Institut Curie is very involved in national pancreatic cancer research groups, in particular the French Pancreas Club. The institute focuses on several priority areas of research:
- Strategies for modulating immunity using vaccines.
- Strategies for modulating the microbiota of tumors in order to explain the current increase in the incidence of pancreatic cancer;
- Strategies based on molecular signatures, i.e. the profile of the RNAs produced by cancer cells, to select the most suitable chemotherapy treatment.
- Adapted physical activity strategies, evaluating the disease's impact on the quality of life of patients with advanced pancreatic cancer.
Institut Curie is also a stakeholder in the pancreatic cancer task force of the EORTC.
