The Institut Curie Research Center

Institut Curie is a major player in the research and fight against cancer. It consists of a Hospital Group and a Research Center of more than 1000 employees with a strong international representativeness.

The objective of the Research Center is to develop basic research and to use the knowledge produced to improve the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutics of cancers as part of the continuum between basic research and innovation serving the patient.

Laboratory

Dr Eliane Piaggio's research group (Inserm U932, Paris, France, https://institut-curie.org/team/piaggio) is part of an immunology department of 130 people headed by Dr Ana-Maria Lennon. The laboratory is located on the Institut Curie campus in central Paris.  The building is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities (imaging, proteomics, animal facilities, genomic and cytometric platforms). The Institute is home to some 1,500 scientists, including many foreign students and post-docs.

The team comprises 13 members, including two bioinformaticians and a project manager.

Missions

The post-doctoral fellow's mission will be to achieve a project in translational immunology research related to the involvement of T regulatory lymphocytes in cancer. The candidate will be responsible for the development, handling and analysis of experiments, and for monitoring the bibliography. Projects will be developed under the supervision of Dr Eliane Piaggio.f cancers as part of the continuum between basic research and innovation serving the patient.

Training and experience required

- PhD in immunology

- Scientific publications attesting to successful completion of previous projects.

- Required expertise in the Treg field.

- Knowledge and former experience in cancer immunology would be an asset.

 

Skills required

- Expert in multiparametric FACS.

- Experience in bioinformatics (RNASeq bulk or single cell analysis) would be an asset

- Strong motivation, autonomy and excellent ability to work as part of a team.

- A high level of integrity, accuracy and rigor are essential.

- Proficiency in English is mandatory.
