Presentation

Clarisse Brunet is a postdoctoral researcher specializing in human cortical development. She completed her PhD at the University of Fribourg in Prof. Simon Sprecher’s lab, where she built the first single-cell atlas of the Drosophila melanogaster larval brain. Following her PhD, she joined the Baffet lab and shifted her focus to understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying human brain development. Her current research investigates how cell fate decisions are made in the developing human cortex, using advanced 3D model systems (cerebral organoids) and cutting-edge imaging techniques to uncover these complex processes.

In addition to her research, Clarisse is the host of the science communication podcast Ciencia en Voz Alta, where she discusses career paths in science and explores new advances in various scientific fields. The podcast features conversations with scientists, sharing insights about their professional journeys and the latest breakthroughs in research, helping to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and the public.
