LUCAS DI PIETRO NEVES FIGUEIREDO PINTO

I have a bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences from the State University of São Paulo (UNESP, Botucatu, SP, Brazil) and a master's degree in biological sciences - genetics expertise, also by UNESP. During my master's I was interested in the regulatory activity of non-coding RNAs, specially microRNAs (miRNAs) in zebrafish and other species.

Now, as a doctorate candidate at Institut Curie, I am interested in the development of the fruit fly's head. The fly's head is an interesting model of study with virtually infinite potential for the investigation of natural and pathological variation. I wish to unravel the intricate molecular mechanisms that drive the development of the fly's head sensory organs (eyes and antennae) from very early stages.
