Dynamics of Genetic Information: fundamental bases and cancer (DIG-Cancer) (UMR3244)

Presentation

I completed my BSc studies in Biology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) (2010) and then I continued with a Master of Research (MRes) degree in Cancer Biology at Imperial College London (2011-2012). Then, I moved to Uppsala University (Sweden), to perform my Ph.D studies in Medical Science, working on the transforming growth factor β (TGFβ) signaling pathway and non-coding RNAs. After my PhD defense (2018), I joined INSERM as a post-doctoral researcher (Rennes, France) (2019-2022). My focus expanded towards the roles of TGFβ signaling on liver cancer and  the investigation of  the biological and molecular functions of a novel TGFβ-induced lncRNA in cholangiocarcinoma. Since January 2023, I joined Institut Curie as a post-doctoral researcher and I am a member of the team “Non-coding RNA, Epigenetics, and Genomes Fluidity” at UMR3244. In my current project, I have expanded my research interest towards the field of extracellular vesicles (EVs) and the cancer-immune cell crosstalk, focusing on the dynamics of EV-mediated RNA delivery between triple negative breast cancer cells and monocytes. The project is performed in close collaboration with the team “Extracellular vesicles, immune responses and cancer” at U932 (Institut Curie).
