Isabella Hofer is an Austrian cell biologist with extensive knowledge of the tumour microenvironment and thereby associated therapy resistances. Before joining Insitut Curie, she conducted her research at the Medical Unversity of Vienna (Department of Obstetrics) as well as King's College London (Randall Division of Cell and Molecular Biophysics). In 2020, she was offered a highly competitive European Union funded Marie Curie Skłodowska Actions PhD fellowship to investigate the role of cancer associated fibroblasts in the chemotherapy response of breast cancers at Institut Curie, Paris. Her current PhD project combines her passions for advanced 3D culture systems, life imaging, artificial intelligence, and bioinformatics.
