Presentation

Isabella Hofer is an Austrian cell biologist with extensive knowledge of the tumour microenvironment and thereby associated therapy resistances. In 2020, she was offered a highly competitive European Union funded Marie Curie Skłodowska Actions PhD fellowship to investigate the role of cancer associated fibroblasts in the chemotherapy response of breast cancers at Institut Curie, Paris. Before joining Insitut Curie she conducted her research at King's College London (Randall Division of Cell and Molecular Biophysics) working on rhabdomyosarcoma and muscular dystrophies. In her current postdoctoral project, she is deciphering underlying molecular mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in triple-negative breast cancer, combining her passions for advanced 3D culture systems, live imaging, artificial intelligence and bioinformatics.
