Presentation

Dr. Olivier Lantz directs the Clinical Immunology Laboratory at Institut Curie’s Paris hospital. He also heads up a immunology research group at the Research Center.

Dr. Lantz received his PhDs in medicine and science from Paris XI University in 1986 and 1990, respectively. He has authored or co-authored over 140 articles published in international journals. He is heavily involved in translational immuno-oncology, including immunomonitoring, biomarkers, and the preclinical evaluation of cancer immunotherapies.

His basic immunology research focuses on T-lymphocytes: characterization of NKT and MAIT cells, CD4 T-cell biology, interactions between the immune system and tumors.

He discovered MAIT cells and characterized them in both mice and humans. He found that their antimicrobial reactivity is linked to the identification of a soluble compound presented by MR1. His current research focuses on the development of MAIT cells and analyzes their role in mice models.
