Research on urogenital cancers

Institut Curie is exploring several research avenues to improve the management of urogenital cancers. One of the strengths of the Institute is its ability to combine treatment and research. Molecular oncology platform, for example, allows for the study of the genetic and molecular specificities of tumors. The teams are also setting up early-phase clinical trials in order to develop innovation in treatments and to offer patients therapies that are as targeted to their individual needs as possible.

Some of the above allow us to explore perspectives for treating kidney cancers. In cases where metastases have not yet spread throughout the body (oligometastatic cancers), stereotaxic radiotherapy protocols (external, therefore less invasive for the patient) are currently being studied. For bladder cancer, research into treatments based on adjuvant immunotherapy after initial treatment with radiochemotherapy is also being sought.
