Treatment of digestive cancers at Institut Curie
Institut Curie can provide care for all primary cancers of the digestive tract, on each of its two sites, Paris and Saint-Cloud. These are complex treatments almost always involving the concerted intervention of different specialists: surgeons, gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiotherapists, radiologists, pathologists.Â
Sometimes geriatricians, nutritionists and doctors specializing in support-care pain management are also required. Psychological support is offered through psychologists and psychiatrists. Lastly, if a genetic predisposition to cancer is suspected, an oncogenetics consultation is offered to carry out constitutional diagnostic genetic analyses. Institut Curie is one of the main oncogenetics centers in the Paris region, and operates in a network with other public hospitals in Paris and the Gustave Roussy center.Â
On the Saint-Cloud site, Institut Curie collaborates on a daily basis with the Ambroise-Pare Hospital (AP-HP) in Boulogne (Hauts-de-Seine), located less than 3 km away, to combine capabilities and offer patients an optimized and personalized course of care provided by these two hospitals. There is also a collaboration between the Paris site of Institut Curie and the Institut Mutualiste Monsouris.
