Governance and management organization
Institut Curie is a recognized public-interest foundation (FRUP). Its governance revolves around:
-Â Â Â Â three operational entities, which are the Supervisory Board, the Executive Board and the International Scientific Advisory Board;
-Â Â Â Â and three entities, which are the Research Center, the Hospital Group and Head Office.
The Supervisory Board
As its name suggests, the Supervisory Board ensures that the Foundation is properly managed and supervised by the Executive Board. Comprising 18 members, it is assisted in its supervisory role by three committees: the Remuneration Committee, the Audit and Finance Committee and the Ethics Committee.
The Executive Board
The Executive Board is responsible for the direction, administration and management of the Foundation. Composed of 3 members, it works closely with the Directors of the Research Center, the Hospital Group and the Head Office. The Board is vested with the broadest powers to act on behalf of the Foundation.
The Research Center and the Hospital Group
- The Research Centre develops research of excellence based on strong fundamental research, a source of innovation in life sciences and oncology.Â
- The Hospital Group treats all types of cancer, including the rarest, using cutting-edge therapies, and always with the aim of maintaining patients' quality of life.
- The Head Office coordinates a number of administrative activities.Â
Le Conseil scientifique international
Le Conseil scientifique international de l’Institut Curie réunit des experts internationaux, en particulier dans le champ de la recherche en cancérologie.
TutellesÂ
As a major player in research and the fight against cancer, Institut Curie can count on the support of its supervisory ministries, the French Ministry of the Interior, the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, and the French Ministry of Health and Prevention. Â
