Functions within Institut Curie
Presentation
Antoine Coulon obtained his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Lyon in 2010, employing computational modeling to investigate transcriptional regulation and stochastic gene expression. He then did a postdoc at the NIH in the US, where he utilized and advanced single-molecule microscopy techniques to study transcription dynamics within live cells. Returning to France in 2015, he obtained a CNRS position to work at Institut Curie, where he started his lab in 2017. His current research focuses on unraveling the physical organization and dynamics of chromosomes within the mammalian nucleus, exploring the relationship between the spatiotemporal genome organization and gene regulation. To explore these topics, his interdisciplinary team relies on approaches at the interface between biology and physics, combining advanced microscopy, micro-manipulation technologies and physical modeling.
