Presentation
Bassam Hajj is a physicist by training, specialized in optical microscopy and single-molecule imaging. He is co-Leading the ''Light-based Observation and Control of Cellular Functions'' (LOCCO) team. Bassam did a PhD thesis at Ecole Normale Superieur de Cachan on Electro-optical microscopy in physics and biology. He joined Janelia Research Campus for a post-doc to work on multifocus microscopy for fast and sensitive imaging at the single molecule level. He returned to France at Insitut Curie for a post-doc and later was recruited as a CNRS permanent researcher since 2016. The team of Bassam focuses on developing cutting edge optical microscopy methods for single-molecule imaging, combined with advanced visualization and analyses tools. The aim is to address biological questions related to 3D nuclear organization and dynamics at different spatial and temporal scales.
