Presentation

Mirna Elizabeta Kramar is a biophysicist with an interdisciplinary training, working on the questions of cell-to-cell communication. Combining theory and experiments, she is quantifying the amount of information the cells receive from the environment and exchange with each other. In particular, she is interested in the intrinsic differences in communication between cancer cells and the healthy surrounding tissue.

Mirna studied Chemistry in Zagreb, Croatia and Biophysics in Dresden, Germany. She completed her PhD in 2020 in Göttingen, Germany on the topic of memory formation and behaviour in a unicellular eukaryote Physarum polycephalum. She joined Institut Curie in 2021 as MSCA postdoctoral fellow.
