L'Institut Curie et PariSanté Campus signent un partenariat stratégique pour accélérer l’innovation numérique en santé

Institut Curie, France’s leading cancer research and treatment center, and PariSanté Campus (PSC), the national hub for digital health innovation, have announced the signing of a strategic partnership. The goal is to create synergies between Institut Curie and the PariSanté Campus ecosystem to foster collaborations among key players in digital health. The outcome? The emergence of innovative solutions that will benefit both patients and cancer research.

“This partnership with PariSanté Campus perfectly illustrates our commitment to collaboration and innovation in oncology. By strengthening our ties within an ecosystem of excellence in digital health, we are enhancing our ability to initiate partnerships with companies and academic stakeholders to transform research into concrete solutions that serve patients. We also hope to pave the way for other institutions within Université PSL to offer PariSanté Campus companies privileged access to our laboratories and innovations.”

Dr. Cécile Campagne Director of Technology Transfer and Industrial Partnerships at Institut Curie, and Deputy Director of Carnot Curie Cancer

Pr. Antoine Tesnière, CEO of PariSanté Campus, added: “This advanced collaboration with Institut Curie, a member of Université PSL, is fully aligned with the mission of PariSanté Campus: to unite the driving forces of research, care, and innovation to jointly build the digital health of tomorrow. Partnering with an internationally renowned institution such as Institut Curie - combining research excellence and recognized valorization strategies - represents an outstanding opportunity to strengthen the collective impact of our ecosystem for the benefit of patients.”

Institut Curie: a key player in AI and Big Data for health

For several years, Institut Curie has established itself as a leading reference in the development and application of artificial intelligence and big data analytics in oncology.
Through the structuring of its Data Department, the strengthening of its bioinformatics and medical imaging teams, and strategic collaborations with major technology partners, data now lies at the heart of its research and innovation strategy.

The recently announced partnership with Google, as part of the Women’s Cancers Institute (IHU Institut des Cancers des Femmes) - led by Institut Curie in partnership with Université PSL and Inserm, three founding members of PariSanté Campus - illustrates the importance of combining genomic, transcriptomic, and imaging data approaches to better understand cancer mechanisms and develop new diagnostic and therapeutic tools.

An alliance dedicated to digital health

This agreement formalizes the shared ambition of both institutions to promote a dynamic of open innovation. It aims to bring together researchers, clinicians, entrepreneurs, and public stakeholders to foster collaboration and the emergence of high-impact medical and societal projects.

The partnership is built around several common objectives:

  • Stimulating the production and use of health data, within a secure and regulated framework, to accelerate research and innovation;

  • Supporting excellence in education and training in digital health and the creation of specialized expertise hubs;

  • Strengthening synergies between both partners’ networks to accelerate innovation and develop medical and technological solutions with strong socioeconomic impact;

  • Improving medical care strategies and healthcare system efficiency, with patients’ interests at the forefront.

An “Explorer Tour” to launch the collaboration

On October 14, Institut Curie hosted the first Explorer Tour, bringing together teams from both institutions, several start-ups hosted at PariSanté Campus, and Institut Curie’s digital health experts, including:

  • Dr. Hervé Brisse, head of the Department of Medical Imaging and head of the Radiodiagnosis Unit at Institut Curie
  • Julien Guérin, director of Data at Institut Curie

This event highlighted Institut Curie’s expertise in digital health and launched a first dynamic exchange between both ecosystems.
It marks an important first step toward a long-term collaboration between PariSanté Campus’s innovation network and the research and care teams at Institut Curie.
