Research on gynecological cancers

As a referral center in the management of women's cancers and co-founder of the IHU Women's Cancer Institute project, Institut Curie is strongly committed to research to combat gynecological cancers. In particular, it participates in translational research protocols, which are at the edge of basic research and clinical research, in order to understand the mechanisms of cancers and evaluate the effectiveness of treatments.

Institut Curie focuses on the following areas in its work dedicated to all gynecological cancers:

  • Molecular characterization of the tumor with high-throughput technologies, the Institut Curie platform being at the forefront in terms of characterization;
  • Monitoring of the disease by liquid biopsy in the blood;
  • Search for new personalized therapies;
  • Implementation of new surgical strategies limiting the risk of complications.

Other lines of research are being developed at Institut Curie, which differ depending on the cancer being considered, such as the study of genomic signatures against endometrial and ovarian cancer, or the search for therapeutic vaccine strategies to combat cervical cancer.
