Oncogenetic consultation
Colon and rectal cancers can occur as part of a family genetic predisposition. Even if these forms are rare (5 to 10% of colorectal cancers), it is important to identify them given the stakes for the affected patients and for their relatives for whom special screening modalities must be put in place.
It is therefore advisable to systematically discuss them in a medical consultation. A dedicated consultation, called oncogenetics, will then be offered to the patient in case of suspected family genetic predisposition. These consultations are available on the two Institut Curie hospital sites, in Paris and in Saint-Cloud.
